| Can Your Service
Provider Handle Cellular Data? |
 |
You will need to find a few things out from
your Internet Service Provider (ISP) before you jump into
Wireless Cellular Data. You will have to make a brief call
to your Provider in order to determine if they support low
speed calls and to ensure they support both analog and
digital cellular data
connections. Ositech's CellFlex
solution works in both analog and digital modes. Check the
specifications and requirements for your particular product
and ensure your service provider can support the proper data
format for your phone and plan.
Your provider will also have to support low speed (14.4
or less) connections as cellular data tends to make a lower
speed connection than its wirelined counterparts. For a full
explanation of why cellular data may not obtain 56K
connections, see the Learn
section of this site.

| Does Your
Computer Have a PC Card Slot? |
 |
Ositech’s CellFlex
Solution is
housed in a regular PC Card (also called PCMCIA cards). You
will need to ensure you have a PCMCIA slot on your laptop
which is not currently in use in order to use the Ositech CellFlex
solution. |

Is Your Phone Dual Mode? Is It Digital Data Capable?
|
 |
To
take advantage of Ositech's CellFlex
dual mode data capability, your cell phone must be both Dual
Mode and Digital Data Capable.
It is important to note that some dual mode phones are
capable of transmitting digital voice only, not digital data
(computer signals). If
you have an analog-only phone, you can still use Ositech's CellFlex-capable
products, but you will only be able to make analog
connections. To view the supported phone list, please
visit the
King of Hearts
or the
King of Clubs
product pages. |

|
| Does your
Wireless Network Support Dual Mode Digital Data? |
 |
You
must be in a geographic coverage area that allows Digital
Data transfer if you want to take advantage of the CellFlex
dual mode feature. Even
if your Dual Mode phone can make Digital voice calls on your
cellular network, you may not be able to make Digital data
calls. This is of particular note under some TDMA networks,
where Digital Data services are not available for the majority of
the customers. Please consult your Cellular
service provider. |
|
| Have
you Subscribed to a Digital Data Plan? |
 |
Since
digital data calls require different resources than digital
voice calls, cellular
service providers may require that you subscribe to a
Digital Data Plan. Making analog data calls is no
different than making analog voice calls, therefore no
special plans are required for using the analog feature of CellFlex. |
